Wifredo Lam merged Cubist and Surrealist ideas with spiritual imagery from his native Cuba, creating a body of paintings with a transcultural visual vocabulary.  This study belongs to a series of works related to The Jungle, Lam’s masterpiece and major statement about his rediscovery of African Cuba.
